How it all started...

Simone Michelle watches originated from founder, Simone Michelle Berry’s, home in Cape Town, South Africa. The idea was born while Simone was completing her Masters studies and had just submitted her thesis to her supervisor for checking.

Whilst knowing that checking could take up to a week, she decided to try use her time productively and integrate her love of design and her entrepreneurial spirit to create something beautiful and functional.

So she perused her Pinterest boards for motivation and got obsessed with the idea of vintage art faces on high quality modern watches. Something that she thought would match her personality perfectly and had not yet seen in the market.

She created several paper cut out prototypes to see if the idea would “work” and the more she saw what the potential product could be, she knew she had to pursue it.

The idea was first inspired in October of 2018 on her dining room table and the business debuted in October 2019. The designs are inspired by vintage art mixed with the current latest trends. Together with an incredible team of family and loved ones, we have developed a business and product which we are exceptionally proud to share with you.

Our watches...

Simone Michelle Watches use a Japanese-made movement base. Each timepiece follows a strict quality control of the ISO 9000 standard.

Each watch is carefully constructed over a period of 75 days to ensure quality and workmanship is done at the most impeccable standard.

Six of those is just what’s called burning the watch it, having the watch at different angles to make sure it doesn’t lose time.
